Entry Requirements for mainstream primary and all age special school

Minimum 2:2 degree for all courses

Primary trainees will need a Grade C or above in GCSE English, Maths and Science.

A pass grade in the Professional Skills Tests

Must be able to communicate clearly in both spoken and written English.

Applicants needs to show evidence of classroom experience.

Applicants applying for salaried places must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a work place.

Overseas qualifications

Applicants who have studied outside of the UK must check their qualifications with NARIC (National Academic Recognition Information Centre) before making an application to confirm their qualifications are of an equivalent level to UK GCSEs, A Levels and undergraduate degrees.

Trainees will need a Grade C or above in GCSE English, Maths and Science.

A pass grade in the Professional Skills Tests

Must be able to communicate clearly in both spoken and written English.

Secondary subjects chemistry trainees should have a good degree (2.1, 1) and excellent subject knowledge. It is desirable, but not essential, that the trainee could also offer some experience of biology or physics. Subject Knowledge Enhancement courses may be offered to the right candidate to support gaps in knowledge or a transition to teaching.

Fee funded applicants need to show evidence of classroom experience

Salaried places: three years’ experience in a work place is desirable but not essential.

Physics
