NEW Recipes of the Week – Quick Salmon Tikka

Posted: Thursday 29th November 2018

As part of our Life Skills and Independence programme, students in the 6th Form are developing their culinary skills by following the ‘Jamie Oliver Edexcel Home Cooking Skills’ programme.

The students have been following recipes and creating some wonderful mouth watering meals and dishes. They are developing the knowledge, understanding and confidence to cook meals at home; an understanding of how to economise when planning a meal; an ability to transfer skills learned to different recipes and an ability to inspire others by transferring that knowledge.

The students are keen to share their recipes as widely as possible and will post a copy of the recipe that they are cooking each week.

Current Recipe of the Week

My name is Daniel Manning and I am in Columbus class. Last year I did the BTEC Home Cooking Skills Level 1 and this year I am doing Level 2. One of the things I need to do is get recipes out to people so every week I will pass on the recipe that I have cooked to Mr Mills and he will put it on the website.

This weeks recipes are all soups! Friends and victors who joined us for our Harvest Festival assemblies today were invited to have a bowl of soup the pupils had made from the produce they had grown in one of the schools allotments. There was a great choice and those luckily enough to sample all of them agreed that each one was gorgeous.
