Early Years – Stay and Play
Our Early Years and Key Stage 1 Department are delighted to welcome seven new children and their families, some of whom have started school for the first time. They have all settled in well and are starting to build relationships with staff and other pupils.
To support our new and established families, we will again be running our “Stay and Play” sessions, for the third year running
The philosophy behind the sessions is to welcome parents, carers and siblings into the department so that they can feel part of their child’s early education. The impact has of these sessions are many but families have welcomed the increased involvement and the creation of positive relationships between home and school.
One father said with reference to his daughter:
“These sessions are very good. I can see what she does and how she is getting on”
A mother with a son in Y1 said:
“I have time with my child and it is a chance to meet other parents”
Another third parent said:
“My visits to “Stay and Play” make me appreciate what I have got rather than have not got. It also confirms that my decision for specialist school over main stream was the right decision.”
The stay and play sessions are held on a Wednesdays morning each month. If you would like to find out more about them or would like to join, please contact Sara Avenell (Head of Key Stage) on 0118 942 1382 or at [email protected]
