Key Stage 3 – ‘Day of the Dead’
Key Stage 3 had cross curricular day where pupils learnt about Mexico’s festival ‘The Day of the Dead’. Inspired by a member of our staff, who is from Mexico, we developed the day around a traditional Mexican story about death and the rich man. All Key Stage 3 staff worked so hard to make the day such a success. A big thank you has to go to Tom Murray, who played ‘The Rich Man’ and Karen Wallace-Jones who played ‘Death’, both of whom got into character by dressing up, and brought the characters to life for the day.
Pupils had a great day making sweet bread, decorating clay skulls, playing and dancing to Mexican music. The day concluded with a rather noisy parade around the Secondary School, giving all pupils to see the wonderful work the Key Stage 3 pupils had done throughout the day.
