Key Stage 4 and 6th Form have a great residential visit to Atlantic College
On Monday 20th June on a very wet and miserable day 26 students and 10 members of staff set off on our annual Key Stage 4 and 6th Form Residential visit to Atlantic College in South Wales. Fortunately as we travelled down the M4 the weather improved and we even saw the sun!
We were greeted by our contact instructors Adrienne and Emily who looked after us for the week – after quickly dropping our luggage off in Tice House, the activities started for the week.
The students were split into 3 group – Blue, Green and Red and everyone took part in – canoeing, woodland adventure, high ropes, swimming, climbing, general games, castle adventure, orienteering and archery.
Everyone challenged themselves during the week with students climbing higher than they had before, helping others to achieve their goals and coping with a week away from home.
We sent postcards to our families during the week, went to a bonfire and learnt some new songs, before ending the week with the traditional Atlantic College disco.
A huge thank you goes to all the staff who volunteered to come away for the week – Mr Uren, Mrs Wainwright, Mr Mills, Mrs Attra, Mr McKay, Mrs Bedwell, Mr Feak, Mr Gerfen, Mr Canham and Mrs Strudley – we would not have been able to go away without all your help!
